Job Description
This function is responsible for performing guidance and oversight of first and third party liability and casualty claims.
The Evaluation Consultant (EC) role supports Claims leaders to ensure consistency and objectivity in our claim handling. The Evaluation Consultant is responsible for conducting quality reviews for appropriate coverage, liability assessments, damages, and compliance with claim processes. Having reviewed all elements of the claim, the EC serves as a second look for the claim evaluation process and injury/claim value determination. As the Evaluation Consultant, you will partner with adjusters and leaders to assist with developing negotiation strategies and assess proper procedures, trends and value drivers with limited oversight. The EC role is regarded as a coach to provide claim handling guidance and direction. A key priority is to ensure we are delivering compassionate service that is fast, fair, and easy for our customers. The individual works independently, prioritizes their responsibilities, and manages their own workload. The EC consistently meets band level behaviors, production, quality and/or customer service goals.

Key Responsibilities
▪ Ensure claim evaluation accuracy
▪ Perform audits of files
▪ Provide recommendations to adjusters or leaders about claim value, quality or trends
▪ Review file quality and accuracy of claims system input
▪ Ensure the use of key evaluation tools
▪ Collaborate with leadership regarding file review results
▪ Assist in developing strategies to address complex injury evaluation, file quality opportunities and process
execution through review and analysis
▪ Analyze and evaluate complex claim processes or procedures and explain information and analysis based
on research
▪ Assess and identify areas of opportunity based on expertise and observations
▪ Advise leadership of coaching and training opportunities to assist with performance
▪ Leads or facilitates formal claim training, coaching, mentoring and feedback on casualty claims
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Experience
▪ Bachelors degree in related field preferred or equivalent experience
▪ 5+ years of related or Litigation claim handling/understanding & Severe/Complex Injury handling experience preferred
▪ 5+ years of Casualty claims experience preferred
▪ Represented claim handling experience preferred
▪ California claim handling experience preferred
▪ WA, OR, CO, AZ, ID, AK & HI claim handling experience preferred but not required
▪ Ability to act with empathy, interact effectively, and coach others to interact effectively with internal and
external customers
▪ Expertise in claims evaluation tools and processes
▪ Applies broad knowledge of insurance policy, coverage, regulations, claim processes and systems
▪ Possesses comprehension of liability, casualty and damage estimating/settlement
Applies broad knowledge
and adherence to applicable legal compliance standards
▪ Contributes advanced industry knowledge to discipline practices, including best practices, to support the
business unit
▪ Demonstrates advanced knowledge of analytical procedures and report preparation to reconcile, analyze,
and recognize patterns of data
▪ Advanced ability to leverage learned technical skills in support of team objectives
▪ Exercises advanced problem-solving skills to continuously improve business outcomes
▪ Demonstrates advanced individual decision-making ability within authority limits
▪ Has and maintains all appropriate licenses and registrations for the role per state requirements

Compensation
Compensation offered for this role is $66,800.00 - 120,650.00 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.
The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation.
