About the role:
We're looking for a creative, strategic, and seasoned science and business communications leader to help us continue our momentum and further establish Elysium as the leading life sciences company focused on aging research. The ideal candidate is first and foremost, passionate about science and health. You'll be leading and executing our science communications strategy in collaboration with internal and external partners, and finding innovative ways to craft a compelling brand story to enhance how we approach product launches and research announcements. As Elysium continues to grow, we'll look to you to manage a small team and scale it alongside the company.
This role reports to the VP of communications and brand marketing and will partner closely with the science and creative teams and brand marketing.

Responsibilities:
Manage agency partners and work to train and develop a small internal team
Build close relationships with members of the communications, brand marketing, executive, and science teams, and others
Contribute to the development and execution of national and regional PR strategies
Develop strategic plans to elevate new product launches, research announcements, and contributor opportunities for scientific leadership in the company - working closely with the director of scientific content
Proactively and reactively establish and maintain relationships with national, regional, and local media
Manage the science communications portion of an existing calendar of product and brand moments in partnership with the science, creative, and executive teams
Develop compelling written content by contributing to press releases, company statements, Q&A/talking points, briefings, award nominations, and media pitches
Work with VP of communications and brand marketing on media opportunities, interview prep, and thought leadership; provide on-location support as needed
Amplify and extend the work of Elysium storytelling partners in marketing, social, and consumer experience to ensure a consistent brand identity and narrative
Align your strategy and work with a larger narrative-driven marketing and communications effort to support Elysium's positioning as the leading life sciences company focused on aging research and a scientific authority that consumers trust ● Create new media and partnership relationships based on your robust rolodex, cultural knowledge, and expertise
Build systems and processes to create efficiencies and capacity for the communications team to effectively and strategically scale its efforts
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate has 8-10 years of communications experience in biotech, pharma, or a highly technical, science-based consumer brand
Team player who is known for being an outsized contributor
Experience working with cross-functional partners to ensure consistent brand messaging ● Familiarity with FDA regulations broadly is required with a preference for an understanding of FDA regulations as they relate to dietary supplements; familiarity with FTC regulations is preferred but a willingness to learn is a must
Candidates should ideally be located in or near NYC, Boston, SF, or LA but will consider remote candidates who are generally willing to work ET hours and travel as needed
