Job Description Summary
The Service unit of GE Grid Solutions is currently seeking a HVDC-FACTS field specialist. Reporting directly to the Head of Service Field HVDC-FACTS, the incumbent will be responsible, in collaboration with the client and the engineering group to ensure the commissioning of HVDC-FACTS systems and provide support equipment. It will also train and support these colleagues and the client's employees in performing this task. It should also be available 24/24 for support in case of emergency.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities:
More specifically, you will:
- Resource planning, equipment and time for commissioning, repair or construction expertise.
- Manage Workers customer and / or switch on the site.
- Perform commissioning tests
- Prepare progress reports, test results, non-compliance report
- Annotating and editing drawings 'as built'.
- Participate in the drafting of technical procedures.
- Submit to external customers and internal technical documentation necessary for operation and maintenance of equipment. Provide information supplements as needed.
- Provide technical assistance in the preparation of submission.
- Analyze, investigate and propose solutions to problems concerning GE discontinued products. Test and industrialize the solution.
- Participate in the development of inspection criteria in collaboration with customers and engineering team.

Required Qualifications:
- Technical degree in electrical with specialization in HVDC-FACTS or electrical
- Minimum of 3 years of field experience in substation commissioning
- Ability and willingness to travel 75% of the time
Desired Characteristics:
- Have good ability to interact and communicate with clients and workers
- Advanced knowledge of electrical and electronic equipment power
- Fluency in English (mandatory) and French will be a plus.
- Knowledge of design software (AutoCAD), knowledge of office software (MS Office Suite)
