General Information:
Plan and execute, with minimal professional guidance, complex semi-technical field assignments involving the installation, modification, overhaul, troubleshooting, test, inspection, repair of High Voltage Circuit Breakers and other High Voltage equipment up to 800kV. Coordinate work with other groups to ensure meeting commitments typically on remotely operated maintenance and testing equipment. Recommend measures to improve operations and customer service.
Your Responsibilities:
- Perform semi-complex field service operations that typically present unusual problems requiring technical skills.
- Delivering outstanding and professional services, remotely or on-site, in key categories, e.g. installation and commissioning, maintenance, repairs, overhauls, engineering and consulting, advanced services, extensions, upgrades and retrofits, end-of-life services and replacements.
- Troubleshooting potential equipment failures and proactively taking measures to offset/prevent and inform internal partners.
- Identify electrical or mechanical problems and determine with no or minimal assistance the corrective action.
- Identifying and developing potential sales and business opportunities based on knowledge of customers and collaboration across HITACHI ENERGY.
- Often work nonstandard schedules at field locations with exposure to varying environmental conditions.

Your Background:
- Candidates must have a STRONG mechanical and electrical aptitude.
- Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
- A trade education and experience such as Industrial Mechanic and Electrical trade backgrounds would be an asset.
- A college or university diploma/degree in a technical field (electrical engineering or technologist, mechanical engineering, or technologist) would be an asset
- 1-2 years of experience in technical field service work, working as a field service engineer with power / mechanical equipment or construction.
- Minimal hands-on experience in substation construction, servicing, maintaining, commissioning, and repairing high voltage equipment
- Knowledge of electrical testing, CB timing, CT testing, PF, ductor, Megger, DRM would be an asset.
- Must have good computer skills with MS suite of tools as well as good general computer skills.
- Current driver's license valid in the US and ability to work in the US.
- Ability to travel to US and other locations, Canada, Mexico.
- Travel estimated at 80%
- Fluent in English
