On-Site machining (OSM) services is looking for motivated, experienced, and skilled Alignment Specialist with expertise in repairing power generation equipment. You will have leadership skills and a desire to learn and grow in this ever-evolving industry. You should have knowledge of GE, Alstom or similar other OEM Power Turbine equipment and experience with portable on-site machining, with an emphasis on large lathes, boring bars, drills, and mills.

Job Description

What you'll do as our GAS Specialist - Experienced with machining:

  • Execute assignments according to GE EHS and Quality requirements where needed.
  • Complete all pre-job planning and post job reporting required, fulfilling the needs of the customer as assigned. This can include machine and tooling preparation, ordering parts and supplies and preparation and review of EHS Safety Plan / Quality Plan.
  • Lead turbine alignment projects by taking precision measurement data with either Faro Laser or Optical methods, analyze & interpret data, recommend and manage equipment casing & bearing moves.
  • Be proficient in all aspects of the On-Site machining (OSM) service offering to be able to independently complete assignments to the satisfaction of the customer. Typical repair activities to include Turbine rotor machining, Turbine casing machining repairs and valve seat retrofits.
  • Provide OSS progress updates to OSS Service Manager and project customer team.
  • Provide technical direction to those performing the work on Customer sites in line with technical requirements. Provide guidance / leadership on crew duties and assignments such that the project is completed in a safe manner with quality results within the schedule allowed
  • Support OSS Supervisors for large repair and machining projects as needed
  • Specialist duties will include but not be limited to: projects as assigned by OSS management, development of innovative service offerings, delivery of training to broader OSS team, and to drive safety, quality, and customer-centric culture to OSS team onsite
  • Ensure all field documentation is completed: Safety Observations, Quality Documents, daily turnover logs and customer final reports.
  • Mentor and develop OSS technicians on the job.

What you'll bring: (qualifiers)

  • Technical Mechanical College / Machining or High School or GED with the equivalent knowledge and experience combined
  • Minimum of 2-5years of experience in Gas or Steam turbine technologies in Machining (repair) experience required.

Other Eligibility:

  • Ability and willingness to travel significantly with NO restrictions,
  • International and Regional travel required
  • 100% traveling to site / Local and not limited to Global travels
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime and 2nd shift/3rd shifts

You are someone passionate about traveling the world while Offering a high degree of experience & expertise with machining and repair of power generation Turbine equipment's.

  • Qualified to operate Faro Laser or equivalent equipment.
  • Ability to gain access to and work in nuclear power plants, maritime facilities, and countries other than US
  • Experience with developing work instructions and leading an hourly union workforce
  • Ability to communicate with and earn and maintain the respect of our customers
  • Experience with portable machining repairs & ability to interpret drawings and specifications
  • Curiosity and willingness to propose improvements and new ideas & develop technical instructions
  • Excellent written and verbal customer facing communication skills.

For U.S. based candidates only, for purposes of complying with U.S. pay transparency requirements, the base pay range for this position is $ 71,100.00 - 88,900.00 - 106,700.00 USD Annual -The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, geographic location, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a 5% annual performance bonus. This position will stay open on the career website until at least 6/16/2024

*The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%,120% or 130% of salary in certain areas of the USA.
