What will you be doing?
The Lead Consultant is responsible for leading Professional Services' consulting teams during customer projects and oversees the day-to-day operations of a project until completion. The Lead Consultant is one of the primary contacts between WWT and the customer for any services project. The Lead Consultant may lead multiple Customer projects concurrently depending on the size of engagement or availability.
A Lead Consultant must be capable of supervising and leading a project team, managing a complex project, and being a recognized expert by significant career experience in enterprise IT leadership or by proven technical/professional services ability in one or more WWT technology practices.
The Lead Consultant leads customer-facing services projects of varying size and complexity that will often include the development of project deliverables (examples include white papers, plans, strategies, designs, assessments, and business case analyses). The Lead Consultant must be "Two in the Box" as part of WWTs approach to driving successful project outcomes.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Solutions / Technical Leadership Role:
- The Lead Consultant understands all client scopes and objectives. They will be the one solution / technical voice facing the client externally and the escalation point internally for WWT employees, Partners, and Contractors.
- The Lead Consultant will partner with the PMO counterpart to resolve Risks and Issues upon identification.
- The Lead Consultant is accountable for resolving technical Risks and Issues in their project using their background and the array of resources available within WWT.
- The Lead Consultant holds staff, contractors, and partners responsible for ensuring that The WWT best practices and templates are followed and delivered to the customer.
- The Lead Consultant will review deployment documents, technical assessments, and other technical outputs to ensure a correct and consistent tone is being delivered as we define by "One Voice."
- The Lead Consultant will manage their respective project as if it were their own stand-alone business and will deliver a service that matches WWTs expectations, focusing on profitability and professionalism.
Daily Role:
- Main contact between WWT and customer from the beginning of a sales pursuit till the end of a project, ensuring the team meets the customer's outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct consulting activities and methodologies leading to comprehensive discovery, analysis, and technical/business recommendations.
- Advanced communication skills, including business/technical writing and presentations.
- Advanced ability to present in-depth technical solutions.
- Self-motivation with the ability to motivate and energize a project team.
- Demonstrate ability to work successfully at all customer levels, from C-level executives to end users.

- Develop relationships throughout the customer's organization to source new business.
- Participate with Sales during the sales process through Project Scoping Workshops (PSWs), presentations, solutions, and development of SOWS.
- Supply the bridge between Sales and Professional Services as new opportunities are closed.
- Proven history of customer focus, including the ability to foster long-term client relationships.
- Ability to successfully manage partner and vendor resources.
- General understanding of financial forecasting, reporting, and budgeting.
- Personnel management experience.
- Expert knowledge of project management principles and practices.
- Willing to travel 50-75% of the time.
- Proactively detects technical deficiencies and develops practical, workable solutions to problems.
- Takes full responsibility for the overall execution and delivery of critical tasks or projects.
- Creates an environment where others feel safe to be open and candid and where conflicting ideas and opinions are regularly discussed.

- Manage large or multi-disciplinary/multi-phased projects, including planning, staffing, budgeting, and delivery.
- Maintain current knowledge of industry trends and tools to supply best-practice insight and best-in-class recommendations to management.
- Ensure that all components and their usage are consistent and compliant with all applicable regulatory, departmental, IT, and corporate standards, policies, and guidelines.
Management
- Manage project risk, up/cross-selling, and oversight of team deliverables.
- Contribute to the definition of industry best practice through subject matter expertise.
- Support the organization as needed, including project scoping, developing SOWs, and responding to RFIs, and RFPs.
- Deliver within the scope of the SOW while meeting or exceeding profit targets.
- Supply proper direction and feedback to team members.
- Ensure that the team finds, documents, and drives resolution for program issues.
EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
A Lead Consultant must have a bachelor's degree in a proper technical, business, or management discipline. An advanced degree is preferred. Other requirements include:
Minimum
- Minimum ten (10) years of industry experience in enterprise IT management, technology consulting, advisory, or professional services.
- Bachelor of Science from an accredited university or equivalent technical and business experience.
- 5-7 years of experience as a Senior Consultant or equivalent experience.
Preferred:
- Thorough understanding of at least one major WWT technology practice area, key technology partners, and market trends.
- Post-graduate training in business-related discipline or management.
- Demonstrated leadership, team building, and management skills.
- Advanced client-facing skills, including analyzing complex problems and influencing and negotiating with clients.
- Demonstrated technical consulting experience in one or more vertical sectors: government, public sector, higher education, finance, health care, technology, or other commercial.
