Description
Local (90%)
- Ensure full engagement in the achievement of the Business Plan Deployment targets in safety, people, quality, responsiveness, cost, and environment, according to a standardized process using GMS tools.
- Ensure full compliance with GM safety and environmental standards, conduct regular tour and assessments.
- Review performance score card, participate in the daily operations meetings to track key business results, manage changes and act on deviations with the suitable problem-solving tools.
- Lead new packaging review and buy-off process, along with continuously drive for packaging improvement initiatives and/or parts distribution strategy that will lead to waste elimination, enhanced utilization, increased density, and improved overall LMS scores that leads to cost reduction.
- Communicate with supplier to lead the local packaging committee so as to approve new/modified returnable and expandable packaging and/or containers through packaging approval and change management processes.
- Perform regular packaging audits and maintain 1738i (packaging approval record)
- Conduct effective problem-solving affecting employees' safety and part quality related to packaging.
- Support material planning for local packaging readiness and loop size calculation
- Ensure all packaging information are communicated and regularly maintained on Plan for Every Part (PFEP).
- Lead the GM1724 standard label implementation and regularly audit compliance.
- Conduct regular audit for packaging design, manufacturing, and maintenance criteria compliance for local containers.
- Support the material launch team with Project launch updates and tasks.
- Represent the function in various activities or committees as required.

Regional (5%)
- Update LMS wall and share best practices to local and reginal LMS leads through monthly regional LMS calls
Global (5%)
- Attend monthly calls and act upon Global Packaging and sustainability requirements from LMS lead
Position supports plans and issue resolution to ensure no or minimal impact to the supply chain.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Competencies
Knowledge and Experience:
- Minimum of one year experience in the industrial field, preferred in material handling, supply chain operations/planning, warehousing, production, industrial or manufacturing engineering
Education:
- Bachelor degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or any related filed
- Lean-six sigma and/or PMP is a plus
Skills:
- Good ability in problem solving and project management techniques
- Good command of CAD software (AutoCAD and/or inventor, solid works) are preferred
