The Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to join our dynamic team. This role will be based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and responsible for Malaysia and Singapore market.

At CSL, the MSL role is highly valued, and the successful candidate will serve as a key scientific resource and point of contact for the medical community, providing insights that support our product portfolio and drive clinical and scientific engagement. You will be a high-performing integral business partner valued for medical excellence and integrity. In this critical role, you will proactively build strong, high-quality relationships with key external medical experts in the designated therapeutic area. You will provide and gather scientific insights to/from external stakeholders, and translate data into clear, compelling scientific messages and strategic medical activities. By investing in relationships and through your knowledge, expertise and insights, you will enhance CSL's reputation and support successful commercialization of novel pipeline products.

In this role, you will:
  • Strategy: Collaborate with the Brand Team to create strategic medical and relationship management plans based on insights from key medical experts. Work with cross-functional teams to implement the brand plan using the CSL CRM tool.
  • Interaction with Medical and Scientific Community: Engage responsibly with healthcare professionals, associations, and stakeholders. Organize and drive Scientific Advisory Board meetings, ensure KOL participation in events, facilitate collaborative study proposals, support site feasibility assessments, assist with publication planning, and address product-related issues.
  • External Expert Development: Manage relationships with KOLs and Emerging Leaders, execute KOL plans in various settings, facilitate speaker development, ensure KOL involvement in clinical trials, and track communications per CSL requirements.
  • Therapy Area Expertise: Maintain extensive knowledge of the therapeutic area and competitive landscape, serve as a field expert, share information through presentations, facilitate stakeholder education, and contribute to data generation efforts.
  • Patients: Support interactions with healthcare organizations and patients to ensure that patient needs influence outcomes.
  • Evidence Generation: Support evidence generation and publication strategies within brand planning, align local and regional evidence generation plans, and identify opportunities for engaging healthcare professionals and patients in evidence projects.

To be considered for the role, you have:
  • Relevant qualifications in medicine, pharmacy, biotechnology, life sciences, or paramedical practice.
  • A medical degree or PhD in fields like Immunology, Hemo-Oncology, or Critical Care is highly desirable.
  • Prior experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry, particularly in medical, clinical, or specialty products.
  • Strong ability to apply scientific and medical knowledge in clinical settings, especially in therapeutic areas such as Immunology, Hemo-Oncology, and Critical Care.
  • Familiarity with KOL engagement via digital media and clinical trial processes.
  • Proven ability to manage relationships with external experts and demonstrate business planning and organizational skills.
  • Innovative thinking and a strong understanding of regulations governing customer interactions in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Excellent presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills.
