The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
Description
Liberty Mutual has an immediate opening for a Senior Claims Quality Specialist to join our Compliance Team within our Commercial Lines division (GRS). The Senior Claims Quality Specialist applies expertise to review and analyze claim files to determine compliance with claim handling guidelines, programs and procedures. Additionally, you will participate in calibration training and development of audit results reports, and provide meaningful remediation/action plans for quality assurance reports, regional and state audit failures, and other audit issues. The selected person will participate in calibration and/or re-testing to determine whether the remediation/action plans developed were successfully implemented and corrected previously identified issues.

The ideal location for this position is in a GRS Claims Office . You will be required to go into the office twice a month if you reside within 50 miles of one of the following offices: Bala Cynwyd, PA; Boston, MA; Chicago, IL; Hoffman Estates, IL; Indianapolis, IN; Lake Oswego, OR; Las Vegas, NV; Plano, TX; Suwanee, GA; Syracuse, NY; Tampa, FL; or Weatogue, CT. Responsibilities
- Assesses quality assurance and/or regulatory compliance issues and is part of the team responsible for providing quality assurance and/or regional audit services to Commercial Insurance (CI) Claims Regions and/or Departments and other market partners. Assists in ensuring risks/exposures are accurately identified, proper controls implemented, and compliance monitored.
- Analyze organizational quality assurance and/or regulatory practices through detailed and timely audits to ensure compliance with internal and external financial, regulatory, and quality controls. Inform all concerned CI Claims partners, Other CI Departments (Financial/Legal) and Corporate Departments (Office of Corporate Compliance/Public Affairs) of identified quality assurance and/or compliance issues using clear, consistent and accurate reports.
- Ensures audit reports (secondary reviews for QA), are completed timely, tracked, and distributed to the appropriate CI Claims management and other involved parties. Audits include the Monthly Suite of Quality Assurance Reports, Regional Quality Reviews, State Quality Reviews, Home Office Internal Audits, Helmsman Audits, Involuntary Market Audits, Laser Audits, Focus Audits, etc.
- Consults with QA and/or Compliance management to provide appropriate Commercial Insurance Claims management with meaningful remediation/action plans for all quality assurance reports, regional and state audit failures, and other audit issues as appropriate.
- Participates in calibration and/or re-testing to determine whether the remediation/action plans developed were successfully implemented and corrected previously identified issues.
- Assists in delivering training to assist Commercial Insurance (CI) Claims Regions and/or Departments in understanding quality assurance, compliance, and key operational requirements.
- Elevates continued quality assurance, compliance failures, or newly identified risks to proper levels of QA and/or Compliance management.
- Responsible for traveling to Regions, serve as liaison, building relationships educating and working cooperatively with assigned Commercial Insurance (CI) Claims Regions and/or Departments.
- In-depth knowledge of Claims handling guidelines, policies, procedures and applications as well as quality assurance and/or regulatory practices
- In-depth knowledge of assigned line of business, general insurance policy coverage and state tort law
- Demonstrated ability to analyze/solve problems, communicate effectively (verbally, writing, presentation, etc ), and plan/organize work
- Competencies required include persistence, attention to detail, adaptability, and drive as normally acquired through a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent training required plus minimum of 5 to 7 years of progressively more responsible and related experience required
- Commercial Auto, General Liability or Workers Compensation claims experience preferred
- Demonstrated experience with Claims Compliance through audit and research a plus!
