About the role:
This is a rare opportunity to be a major force in building a still nascent social community for a growing brand. As the social media manager, you'll help bring Elysium to life across all social media channels in a category that is booming on social: health.
The ideal candidate is first and foremost, passionate about science and health. They are the first to know what's trending and how to turn the publication of a landmark scientific paper into a compelling Instagram story. They are a social media and audience development expert, ingrained in culture, quick-witted, and able to act on emerging conversations and cultural moments on behalf of the brand.
This role reports to the VP of communications and brand marketing and will partner closely with creative, customer experience, and growth marketing.

Responsibilities:
- In collaboration with communications and creative, own the creation and management of the social media content calendar and execution primarily across Instagram and Facebook, as well as other social media platforms
- Grow the community around our mission and products, including daily moderation and direct communication with our customers, influencers, and our broader audience; partner with CX to manage the social CX
- Support our editorial content and email audience development with strategic social distribution
- Work with the team to ideate and execute campaigns that bring the brand to life and connect with people where they are online
- Facilitate partnerships and collaborations and execute social swaps of content with like-minded publishers and brands
- Evaluate social media automation and listening tools
- Manage a reporting dashboard on social channel performance and build a reporting structure and cadence to share growth, insights, and engagement with the wider team
- Build a short and long term strategy for channel management and growth (for existing and new channels)
Qualifications:
- Passionate about science and health and a genuine interest in building a new kind of healthcare company
- Minimum of 3-5 years experience in social media and community management for a brand or relevant organization
- Excellent editorial judgment, writing skills, and ability to capture Elysium's tone and voice
- Knowledge of and an interest in social media trends
- Analytical understanding, experience with data insights, and a working knowledge of social data tools
- Experience with Canva or similar design and editing software
- Prior experience working at a startup or similar environment
